Description
Put your skills together and create your first wearable garment! In this class, you’ll learn how to read a simple commercial pattern, sew durable seams, and add elastic for comfort. By the end, you’ll have a pair of pajama shorts made by you.
In this class, you will learn the basics of beginner garment sewing including (but not limited to):
• Cutting from a beginner-friendly commercial pattern
• Reinforcing seams for strength
• Adding an elastic waistband casing
• Finishing hems neatly
• Completing pajama shorts project
Project Supply List (per student):
• 1.5 yards of lightweight cotton or flannel (pre-washed)
• 1″ wide elastic (enough to fit waist measurement + 2″)
• Matching all-purpose polyester thread
This class is recommended for students who have completed the earlier beginner sewing classes or have equivalent experience. Students under 15 must have a parent or guardian present.
