Laser: Wooden Ornament

Overview: Create some memorable ornaments for your Christmas tree this year. We’ll use the Xtool M1 Ultra to print, cut, and /or engrave one-of-a-kind ornaments.

In this class, you will learn:
– How to cut, Engrave, and/ or Print using the Xtool M1 Ultra
– The basics on how to use XCS (Design program used for Xtool laser cutters)

Things/info you will need:
– We have 3 computers that can be shared among students. I recommend bringing your
laptop and downloading XCS (Free Design Program) just in case more than three people
join the class.
– Customizable templates will be available.

Key photo requirements for Xtool M1 Ultra Photo (Engraving):
– Image format: PNG, JPG
– Color mode: Grayscale
– Photo Resolution: 300 PPI (Pixels Per Inch) or higher
– Image size: Crop and resize to fit a 3”x3” Circle (This can be done in class)

Key photo requirements for Xtool M1 Ultra Photo (Printing):
– Image format: JPEG, JPG, and PNG
– Photo Resolution: At least 300 PPI (Pixels Per Inch) or higher
– Image size: Crop and resize to fit a 3”x3” Circle (This can be done in class)

+Keep in mind that the printer can not print true black or white because it only uses a CMYK ink
Cartridge. This means black comes out closer to dark grey and white/ lighter colors are a little
transparent (Not opaque)+
Rules:
– This class is open to all skill levels. Ages 10+. Students under 15 must have a
parent/guardian present.
– All students must wear closed-toed shoes. Anyone who does not adhere to the dress
code cannot participate in the class and will not be refunded.
