Learn how to use a vinyl cutter and heat press to create a custom t-shirt! Students can choose 1 image and up to 3 words to apply to a t-shirt using a heat press.
Note: students may bring their own clothing to add a design to. Please note: HTV (heat transfer vinyl) adheres well to cotton, polyester, poly/cotton blends, canvas, denim, and burlap. You can also use it on nylon, but you should pre-wash the fabric first. However, HTV doesn’t work well on synthetic fabrics like acrylic because they may melt under the heat of an iron.
Recommended: 1 image and 3 words to ensure project completion in allotted time. Students who run over allotted time may have to rent time on the heat press or tabletop. Included in class is 12”x12” of single color HTV vinyl. Bring a tablet or laptop to create your designs with! There are computers for students to use, but you may have to share.
In this class, you will learn the basics of vinyl cutting and heat press including (but not limited to):
-How to create a design
-How to use a Vinyl cutter
-How to weed vinyl
-How to apply vinyl
-How to use a heat press
