Description
Ready to level up your sewing skills? In this class, you’ll learn how to insert zippers and add structure with interfacing while creating a functional zipper pouch. This small but mighty project teaches techniques you’ll use in garments, bags, and more.
In this class, you will learn the basics of sewing with closures including (but not limited to):
- Introduction to zipper types & zipper foot attachment
- How to apply interfacing for stability
- How to insert a centered zipper
- How to finish a lined project neatly
- Completing a zipper pouch project
Project Supply List (per student):
- Two fabric pieces (outer +lining) cut 10″x8″ each (cotton or lightweight canvas, pre-washed)
- 1 piece fusible interfacing, 10″x8″
- 9″ all-purpose zipper
- Matching all-purpose polyester thread
This class is recommended for students who have taken earlier beginner sewing classes or are comfortable with basic stitching. Students under 15 must have a parent or guardian present.
